DIY Pallet outdoor table

I have never worked with wooden pallets before, but saw some great projects on Pinterest, so I thought I would jump on the Pallet craze.  I saw this table on Etsy for $230.00, seriously?  I was talking with my friend Toni, and she dropped off 2 pallets at my house, don’t you love friends 🙂  Thanks Toni !!  I didn’t know if I was going to do a pallet garden, they are cool, a pallet shoe rack (still pondering on this one) or a table to go with my adirondack chairs I built a few years ago.  The winner is…….The table.  Here is a picture before

ImageI had to remake it a few times, I wasn’t happy with the height, so I had to re-cut the 4×4’s a few times to get to the right height.  Thank goodness for portable circular saws !!  I was pretty blown away with the price of wheels or casters (Lowe’s 14.99 each), but found a great deal at our Tractor Supply on a cart with 4 wheels for $9.99 last week.  I am very happy with the way it came out, what do you think?

I would do a few things differently.  I would stain it before I assembled, and I would build it closer to where it is going, wow these pallets are heavy.

I love almost free projects 🙂

  1. I love those pallet tables! I see so many great things to make on Pinterest using them but keep wondering how to get my hands on some. I think they would look great painted in a bright summer color, too.

    1. Ask your friends or check on Craigslist, I bet you can find a few. They are very heavy, so be prepared. I am hoping my “friends” can get me a few more also, would love to make a shoe rack I saw on Pinterest. Thanks for liking my table 🙂
